Orchard workdays offer honest and rewarding graft for those who want to help develop and maintain the Donkey Field Orchard. Everyone is welcome!
Whilst you are more than welcome just to turn up to any of the workdays, it helps our planning if we know we have a core of volunteers for each workday. We suggest that, if possible, community orchard volunteers sign up to a minimum of two workdays per year. Please sign up on the online spreadsheet. All this means is that you are committing to be there on those days – the person whose name is down as co-ordinator will do the organising and sort out what tasks need to be done.
The next work day will be on 28 January 2012, from 10 am — 2 pm.
When coming along to a workday please make sure to bring something to eat and drink and wear appropriate clothing, especially now the nettles have sprung up again. Even better, bring some thick gloves and a bag to collect some for soup!
What to bring (if you can):
- Gardening gloves
- Work clothes with long sleeves and legs (there are thistles and nettles!)
- Sun cream on hot days
Hello, my fiancee and I joined Pedal recently. We’d love to help with the orchard, but we work weekends — could there be weekday work days please??
Hi Elizabeth
We have the work days at the weekend as that is when most people are free. There is work that could be done at other times though.
Please e-mail pedal-orchard@googlegroups.com for more info. As this is a Google group it will be received by the whole group.
Actually, the e-mail address to contact the orchard group should be: orchard@pedal-porty.org.uk
